Community Benefit
Meeting the healthcare needs of the community lies at the heart of the St. John Health System’s mission as a not-for-profit charitable organization. Each year, we provide a variety of services and programs to increase the health and well- being of northeastern Oklahoma’s citizens.
Our services, however, do not stop at the hospital door.
In Fiscal Year 2006, the health system provided $45,269,000 of community benefits, including uncompensated care to those unable to afford medical care, support for community clinics, free or low-cost educational seminars for the public, and programs to train the next generation of medical professionals; in all, reaching more than 157,000 people.
We are proud of our history of service to the community and remain loyal to our responsibility of providing medical services to everyone, in particular the poor and disadvantaged.
We believe our community benefit represents a significant contribution to the people and communities in the areas we serve. And, although we also struggle with the rising cost of healthcare, we remain committed to serving our community.
