Since 1979, Tulsa Life Flight, based out of St. John Medical Center and Saint Francis Hospital, has served the communities in and around eastern Oklahoma by providing helicopter air ambulance and ground mobile intensive care unit (MICU) critical care patient transports.
St. John’s affiliation with Tulsa Life Flight offers the fastest possible access to first class trauma care for critically ill or injured individuals. LifeFlight responds to scenes and hospital to hospital requests for critical care patient transports.
Tulsa Life Flight is the only helicopter ambulance program in a three-state region that carries blood to all trauma scenes and indicated medical transports. LifeFlight crew members are highly trained in areas such as advanced pharmacology (advanced training in the effects of drugs or medications on the body), tissue perfusion (blood flow into body tissue), as well as advanced pain control.
